A Blobbing Valentine

So, for those of you who don't know, I am one of several "blobbing mommies."  A group of us get together with our children and have fun.  I'm not exactly sure as to the origins of "blobbing," but I'm fairly certain that it has something to do with the way we felt and spent time together when there were less children and larger bellies (due to pregnancy).  At this point there are several children, a few toddlers and one baby, but no bellies.  So we do a lot more "bubbling" than blobbing.
Anyhow, this past Valentine season, we decided to have a party so our children (and we) could participate in the exchange of Valentines.  Between the group of us it was a grand display of creativity.

The Friday before the party we all brought milk jugs and craft supplies together to make these fabulous Valentine's mailboxes.  Each child was allowed to decorate his or her jug to preference.

Before the party each family made their own Valentines to share.  We used our MANY toilet paper rolls (that I have been saving for just such an occasion) to make butterflies and filled them with bubble gum.

On the day of the party my two creative friends had heart shaped cupcakes and pink punch made and cut out heart shaped pieces of cheese for Valentine's pizza!
While the cheese didn't resemble hearts as much as we had hoped, it tasted delicious and no one worried about it after the first cut and bite.

The table, when decorated, looked so adorably festive that I couldn't resist taking a picture.  Those of you who know children, or have children must know that we had to remove the cupcakes once the children sat down at the table, or they would have taken Marie Antoinette's advice. "Let them eat cake!"

I'm now singing "My Blobbing Valentine" instead of "My Funny Valentine" by Frank Sinatra. :)
