This past Sunday she invited us over after Sunday services for a Valentine's get together. She made sugar cookies and set out place mats, frosting, and sprinkles for the children. They thoroughly enjoyed themselves decorating the cookies (interspersed with plenty of decoration eating) and then eating the cookies. There are several reasons this is not only fun for them, but developmentally enhancing.
1. There were only two containers of sprinkles. - sharing and waiting their turn
4. They were given no instructions aside from, "Here it is. Have fun!" - CREATIVITY, imagination
The day after Valentine's was President's Day. That meant that daddy had a holiday. While he worked on his new truck and put shelve up in the front closet, the girls worked on making their own Valentines for the rest of the family.
That evening, our eldest made presentations of Valentine cards and gifts to every member of the family.
