A Lakeside Frolic

Living in south west Michigan has many benefits, one of the greater (besides being in the fruit belt) is effortless access to the shores of Lake Michigan.
We spend at least one day here every time we visit.  The sand is so fine and soft, like satin almost.
There are lighthouses all over the coast of the lake, many available for leisurely strolls, or romantic sunset walks or, as in our stage of life, a long stretch for the expending of childhood energy.
We didn't walk down to the lighthouse this time, but instead let the girls play on the beach, digging in the sand with their fingers and toes, and finding treasures of long emptied shells.
The girls had so much fun playing in the sand and water, despite the cool spring temperature. They ran up and down the beach amazed at the wide expanse of soft, rock free sand and the small waves that played tag with them as they jumped and skipped merrily.
As the sun set, the lights along the lighthouse walk twinkled, illuminating the way to the life saving lighthouse.  I am reminded of what I am supposed to be, a light pointing the way to the One, True, lifesaving Light, Jesus Christ.

We had so much fun and the girls didn't want to leave.  The fresh air and cold water combined with the running and playing to give all of us a good night's rest.
