What a perfect day for sledding! It was only -15 F, the snow was nice and slick, and we had three functional inner tubes. We went to Chena Lakes. The hill is a steep enough slant to get "mild speed," but not so steep or long that one dreads the hike back up. We went with my sister and her friend who is visiting from California.
I know it is hard to tell by the looks on the girls' faces , but they were having a great time out there. I was even able to take a photo of myself and the baby. That look on my face is one of trying to remember to smile while concentrating on getting the camera pointed in the right direction and not put a finger over the flash, or drop the baby.
Yes those are men's smart wool socks on her feet and legs. Those have been used to keep extremities warm since I was a child. I remember using them for mittens in a pinch!
Someone didn't bring her mittens. . . she ended up with mommy's. I must admit, I am to partly to blame. She is only four and I told her everything was in the outdoor bag in the car. She only had one mitten and that just wouldn't do. She wouldn't wear only one, had to have both!
While sister, on the other hand, had all her gear, and made sure it was coordinating! (Pink and brown mittens hat, scarf and boots)
